Add a Watermark to a PDF
Mark a document as CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT, brand it with your logo, or stamp an ID copy with what it's for. Type your text or choose an image, set the angle, size and opacity, watch the preview update, and download.
Watermark ideas
- KYC copies: “Only for <purpose> – <date>”, tiled at 20% opacity.
- Drafts for review: “DRAFT” at 45°, centred, so nobody mistakes it for the final.
- Sharing designs or reports: your name or logo, tiled, so screenshots carry your credit.
- Internal documents: “CONFIDENTIAL” plus a password for real protection.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why watermark ID copies like Aadhaar or PAN?
A watermark such as 'For KYC with XYZ Bank only, 08/10/2026' makes a copy useless for anything else. If it leaks, it can't easily be reused to open an account or take a SIM in your name. Use the tiled option so it covers the whole page.
Can someone remove my watermark?
A watermark added to a PDF can be removed by someone determined with editing software, and that's true of every PDF watermarking tool. To make removal harder, use the tiled layout over the important content. For an ID copy, you can also convert the watermarked PDF to images with PDF to Image, which merges the watermark into the picture.
Does the watermark cover the text underneath?
It sits on top of the page at the opacity you choose. At 15–30% the content stays readable while the watermark is clearly visible. The preview shows exactly how it will look.
Can I use my logo?
Yes. Switch to 'Image / logo' and choose a PNG or JPG. A PNG with a transparent background blends best. Size, angle, opacity and tiling work the same as for text.
Is the PDF uploaded?
No. The watermark is drawn into the PDF in your browser, and the file never leaves your device.
